SALLY BAUER
Ms. Bauer is a former Teacher in the Wenatchee School District, was the Ordering Manager for the U.S. Forest during the 1994 and 2000 Fires, and was an Adjunct Professor for Central Washington University.
Sally has lived in the Wenatchee Valley area for over 40 years and is currently involved as President in the Wenatchee Valley Antique Doll Club, Committee Member of the Distinguished Young Women of Leavenworth and a Patron of the Leavenworth Summer Theater.

BRAD BLACKBURN
Mr. Blackburn is the owner of Blackburn Financial, a financial planning and investment management firm based in Cashmere, WA. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors at Mountain Meadows, which he has since 2007, Brad is a past-President of the Leavenworth Rotary Club as well as Cashmere Youth Soccer. Currently Mr. Blackburn also serves on the Leavenworth Summer Theater Board.
Brad has lived in the Leavenworth area since 2003 and given the slightest opportunity, will spend his free time enjoying the abundant natural beauty in the mountains surrounding Mountain Meadows.

JOHN J. HENRI
Mr. Henri was born is Berkeley, California and lived most of his child and early adult years in Sonora, California; a small town in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Yosemite National Park. While attending New Mexico State University he met and married Mary Worrell. After graduating with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, John and his young family took a career path which including working over the next 22 years for four (4) International Design and Construction Firms specializing in Industrial Facilities. In 1993 he formed J.J. Henri Co., Inc. in Oregon and for the past 25 years has been building Industrial and Institutional Construction Projects almost exclusively in the North West.
Along the way they raised four (4) children. Now the family, not so young anymore, includes nine (9) grandchildren. Two daughters and four grandchildren live in Leavenworth, one daughter and three grandchildren live in Chandler, AZ, one son and one grandchild live in Canby, OR, and one grandchild lives in Nampa, Idaho.
Mr. Henri is currently the President of J.J. Henri Co., Inc. an Oregon based firm specializing in Project and Construction Management Services for the design and construction of Industrial and Institutional Facilities. He also is the owner of Henri Services based in Washington. He has been trying to retire in Leavenworth, Washington since 2012.
Notable past community positions included: Executive Director of Henri’s Children’s Ranch of
Sonora, California, City Council Member in Canby, Oregon, volunteer coach for wrestling and basketball for elementary and middle school age children, and volunteer official for baseball and soccer for elementary and middle school age children.
Jon and his wife Margaret have made Leavenworth their home since 1983.

KELLY HASSINGER
Kelly Hassinger has lived in the upper Wenatchee valley for 31 years. She has been a friend of Mountain Meadows for many of those years. Card playing is the disguise and visiting with residents is the true reason she keeps coming back. Kelly has worked for Upper Valley MEND since 2005. As Community Outreach Manager, she interacts with a large cross section of our community from donors and volunteers, to food bank clients. Aside from the fun at work and volunteering at Mountain Meadows, Kelly helps the last of her three daughters in her many endeavors. Kelly also enjoys gardening, hiking, bike riding, skiing and volunteering at Osborn Elementary where her Husband, Mark, is a 4th grade teacher.

MARCIA PATTEN
Ms. Patten moved to Leavenworth from California’s Silicon Valley in 2004. Marcia has had three diverse careers; a teacher for the blind and visually impaired; a helicopter pilot and a technical writer and editor of chemical engineering patents.
Marcia has served on the Board for Mountain Meadows since 2007, as well as being an active volunteer with the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce for its many festivals.

CAROL ANN SEAMAN
Carol moved to Leavenworth in 1988 to open the Gingerbread Factory, which she owned and operated for 15 years. She now works part time doing online marketing for a Woman’s Health Care Center. Carol volunteers at Mountain Meadows playing cards and visiting. She enjoys local outdoor activities with her husband, Shaun and daughter Claire.

ELLEN FARLEY
Ellen Farley moved from Utah to Leavenworth, Wash., in 2014. She came originally from Germany to New York. Traveling west she met her husband with whom she raised three children living in Chile, Mexico and Brazil. Her knowledge of the German language gave her many opportunities to help with translations and tutoring at various universities. Over the last eight years she worked in the hospitality industry at a lodge in a remote area of Utah. Ellen enjoys gardening, hiking, skiing, traveling and being a volunteer at Mountain Meadows.

MAURY HAFERMANN, MD
Originally from Seattle, Dr. Hafermann is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Washington School of Medicine. He came to Leavenworth in 1999 following residency training in Family Practice in Idaho. Employed by Cascade Medical, he has worked in a variety of care settings, including outpatient clinic, hospital, ER, Assisted Living, and home visits. He has a high regard for the concept of ‘aging well,’ including how to make the best of the inevitable transitions in life—a sentiment further reinforced by his own personal experience of adapting to a chronic autoimmune disorder.
Dr. Hafermann has two children, and his wife, Shannon, is a Physical Therapist. Dr. Hafermann maintains his medical license and volunteers on a part-time basis at Cascade Medical consulting on medical cases and teaching visiting medical students. Other past community involvement has included Youth Soccer, Boy Scouts, Wenatchee River Institute and Habitat for Humanity.

SUZANNE VANDERWERFF
Ms. Vanderwerff joined the Mountain Meadows Board in October 2009. She has lived in the Leavenworth area since the early 2000’s and is currently the Senior Director of the Revenue Cycle for Seattle Children’s Hospital, where she has been in a leadership role since 1993.
Suzanne holds a Master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of Minnesota.

Kathryn Tucker, JD
Kathryn L. Tucker, JD (KT) is recognized as a national leader in spearheading creative and effective efforts to promote improved care for seriously ill and dying patients. She has served as Director of Advocacy at a number of national nonprofit organizations including: the Completed Life Initiative, the End of Life Liberty Project, the Disability Rights Legal Center, and Compassion & Choices. KT has held faculty appointments at Loyola. the University of Washington, Seattle University and Lewis & Clark Schools of Law, teaching the seminar: Law, Medicine and Ethics at the End of Life. KT grew up in Connecticut, attended Hampshire College in Amherst MA and Georgetown Law School in Washington DC. KT relocated to Leavenworth in 2023, where she enjoys kayaking, trail running and cross-country skiing. KT also volunteers as a Nordic ski coach in the Leavenworth Winter Sports program.

Nate Oglesby
Prior to moving to Washington, Nate Oglesby grew up in North Dakota and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Health. He taught fifth grade for two years. While teaching, he spent his summers in Washington visiting family and working as a caregiver in a skilled nursing facility. It was during that time he was inspired to become a registered nurse. He graduated in 1986 from Wenatchee Valley College with an associate degree in nursing. Nate found his niche working with seniors in long term care as a registered nurse and a health care administrator for over 40 years. Prior to retiring in 2023, he spent 17 years as the Executive Director of Mountain Meadows.
Nate enjoys traveling, theater, yard work, and daily walks.

GLENDA DEVORE
Ms. DeVore has lived in Leavenworth since 1995, moving from Alaska where she was Administrative Assistant for various department heads of ARCO Alaska, Inc. Once settled in Leavenworth, Glenda worked for the Administrator of Cascade Medical Center and supported the Board of Commissioners as well as some department heads, retiring in 2000.
Glenda is a founding Board Member of Mountain Meadows. She also volunteers for the Chelan County Fire District #3 Auxiliary, is a member of Beta Sigma Phi, an International Organization for Women. Her hobbies include quilting, card making, as well as other crafts.

JON WHEELER
Mr. Wheeler joined the Mountain Meadows Board in 2004 and currently serves as President of the board. Jon is President of Jon D. Wheeler, PS, a CPA firm specializing in estate planning, organization planning services and litigation support. He also served as interim Chief Executive Officer of the Cascade Medical Center in Leavenworth in 2009.
Jon and his wife Margaret have made Leavenworth their home since 1983.

TONY BANKS
Mr. Banks has been a Mountain Meadows Board Member since its inception in 2003. Mr. Banks has a background in Mortgage Banking and Apartment Management. He is currently a member of the Leavenworth Rotary Club and volunteers at Community Cupboard, which is an organization originally formed as a food bank by area churches in 1983. The Cupboard now includes a food bank, thrift store, and Emergency Family Assistance services.
Tony and his wife of over 40 years have lived in Leavenworth since 2001. He enjoys skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, bicycling and swimming, as well as being one of the founding board members. Tony says, “I am proud to be a Board Member of Mountain Meadows which is professionally operated by a superior team of managers and employees whose goal is to provide the ultimate in assisted card, independent care and memory care services to those who need such care in the Leavenworth community.”
